This is a restored bakelite piano radio. The dial says "Continental", but was obviously made by General Television. Ok, this is about the NICEST bakelite case piano we have had, and after restoring the radio and starting the polishing of the cabinet, THEN we discovered a tight hairline crack on the back. The cabinet was just too nice to paint, so we continued with the polishing, and after I weeped JB Weld Epoxy into the crack, so it will not open or spread. The picture shows the hairline well. Other than that the cabinet is excellent, inside and out, all the pieces. OOPS, the keyboard is a bit wavy, it was clamped and epoxied to get it as straight as can be, no missing keys. The pictures DON'T show the really nice mottling of the top bakelite - mostly browns but a bit of black and gold too. The pedals are reproduction (they are almost always missing) and so is the music board. Electronically, I replaced all the paper film capacitors with polyesters (a LOT of capacitors) and I installed new electrolytics, tested good tubes, a good cleaning and I lubricated all the moving parts. I aligned it to original factory specs, so it works as good as new. It tunes Standard AM Broadcast.. This is nicest looking bakelite piano we have had, plays well, looks great, thanks for looking.
